Dr. Kathleen Hood

Dr. Hood was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She earned both her undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (GO HEELS!). After dental school she went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she gained advanced training in hospital dentistry and treating special needs patients. As a military spouse, Dr. Hood has lived and practiced in four states and numerous cities over the last decade. She has been working in the dental field since 2008, and recently hails from Jacksonville, FL where she led a large practice for three years. Moving frequently has allowed her to work in both private practice and non-profit settings and to learn different procedure mixes from a variety of mentors. Dr. Hood stays abreast of the latest advances in dentistry through a variety of continuing education courses. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association, and she volunteers with the Adopt-A-Vet, Missions of Mercy, and Give Kids a Smile outreach programs. She is nitrous oxide certified and an Invisalign Gold level provider.

Dr. Hood lives in Niceville with her husband, three young boys, and golden retriever. They enjoy watching their boys grow and explore new sports and activities and staying active outdoors as a family. In her sixteen years in dentistry, Dr. Hood has come to love the unique relationship dentists have with their patients and is committed to bringing enthusiastic and patient-focused care to the Mid Bay Dental team.
